Le FORT  FX

 

S & S:

  1. Le Fort I - horizontal fx along the lower maxilla, thus, when pulled, the lower maxilla moves forwardleaving nasal structure in place.
     
  2. LeFort  II - triangular fx of maxilla along the nasal bones and infraorbital  medial rim. This results in maxillary motion with the nose.If displacement is significant, patient's eyes may appear laterally deviated. CSF leak is generally present due to ethmoid and cribriform plate involvement.
     
  3. LeFort  III - fx of zygomaticofrontal junction and fx  frontonasal junction. This results in craniofacial separation that gives the "dish face" appearance. CSF leak is common.
