A few words of wisdom:
- Rash, when presents to ER with c/o arthralgia, think SLE (do ANA test), Serum Sickness, Reiter's, gonorrhea, endocarditis, sarcoidosis, lyme disease.
- When you see pt with rash, first evaluate airway/breathing. Look for swelling of uvula, drooling, bronchorrhea, wheezing. Give Proventil or Ventolin via neb, Steroids (Solumedrol 125 mg IV or Prednisone 60 mg PO),
Epinephrine 0.3 mg SQ 1:1000 solution as needed. Intubate as needed
